Many students
speak up about their complaints against the Ministry of Education and Culture
and the LPDP for being late in granting students’ rights in the form of monthly
living funds as participants in one of MBKM programs namely PMM (student
exchange program) in Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS).
The Ministry of Education and Culture and the LPDP have not provided the monthly living funds for all students of PMM UNS until early October 2022. The delay in disbursing funds for more than a month since the students' arrival in mid-August made all students complain and protest.
Nadya Risma Namira, one of the students of PMM UNS, complained about the late disbursement of monthly living funds.
"Honestly, I am very disappointed with the Ministry of Education and Culture and the LPDP who are not professional in managing funds for students of the PMM program. We have carried out our obligations properly and on time in submitting reports, but we got nothing until today."
Nadya's statement was strongly approved by other students.
Nonanda Junita, another student of PMM UNS, also gave her opinion on this issue. She said that it was pretty difficult for those who are living far from home to survive with meager money. The monthly living funds that have been promised by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the LPDP is their biggest hope. But in reality, the promise has not been realized yet.
Nonanda's statement is also a form of students’ complaint against the unprofessionalism of the Ministry of Education and Culture and the LPDP in managing finances in this PMM program.
Many students of PMM UNS protested either directly to the person in charge of finance on Telegram or through comments on the Instagram page of @pertukaranmahasiswamerdeka. They expressed complaints, annoyances, and criticisms as well as suggestions so that this PMM program could be better managed.
"I hope that the Ministry of Education and Culture and the LPDP will not ignore all the complaints and protests from students who are fighting for their rights. Hopefully, in the future the government will be wiser in dealing with all problems that occur in the PMM program," said Tri Mania Gea, a student of PMM UNS.
